Cakeinabox.co.uk is a leading online confectionery retailer of Celebration cakes. We have designed our site to be as simple to use as possible and in this section we have provided some simple tips on how to search, browse and purchase. We hope you enjoy your visit!

Searching

The easiest way to find what you're looking for is to search for it. The 'Search' box is on the right of every page, at the top, below our logo. Simply type the title of what you are looking for into the box and click 'Search'. If you don't find what you want straight away, here are a few tips:

Keep it simple

Best results are often obtained if you enter just one or two key words from the title of a Cake. Try using the least common words. (Don't use words like 'the', 'and', 'a', etc. which will produce many results.)

Don't worry about punctuation

Adding punctuation is not necessary when searching. The cakeinabox.co.uk search engine will reveal the same results 'proper punctuation' or not.

Searching is not the only way to find what you are looking for - browsing the site is also an option. The main areas of the site are shown at the top of every page; simply click the tabs to move between different product areas.

Purchasing

Making a purchase at Cakeinabox.co.uk is easy and secure.

Choosing an item

When you find an item you want to purchase, click the 'Buy' button. The item will be added to your 'Shopping Basket' this is found on the top left of the page.

Paying for your item

When you are ready to buy, click the 'Checkout' button in the Shopping Basket

Creating an Account

The first time you make a purchase with us you will need to register and create an account. The account will store your name, address and credit/debit card details. This only takes a couple of minutes to set up and is fully secure.

Confirming your item and payment

During the checkout process we will ask you to confirm the delivery address and show you the total cost of your purchase. Once you have checked these details and clicked 'Confirm' you will have completed your purchase.

Victoria Vanilla Sponge

Our delicious Victoria vanilla sponge is always made fresh to ensure a soft, moist and light texture. It is split and spread with a delicious butter flavour cream and mixed fruit jam/raspberry piping jam filling as standard. Other cakes and fillings available.

Chocolate Cake

We have developed our chocolate cake to contain as much chocolate flavouring as we possibly can. This ensures that it is always moist and rich in flavour. All of our chocolate cakes are topped with belgian chocolate sugar paste icing and split and filled with a delicious cocoa butter flavour cream. Other cakes and fillings available.

Rich Fruit Cake

Our fruitcake is made from a special recipe developed by our Master bakers. We use all natural ingredients including butter flavour, dark sugar, flaked almonds, rum and quality sun dried fruits. We slow bake the cakes in a lightly steamed oven to ensure a moist and delicious cake. We always finish our cakes with marzipan and rolled sugar icing. Royal iced cakes can be made on request. Always ensure that you use a sharp cake knife when cutting.

Cake Portions

All novelty cakes feed a minimum of 30 individuals. We do not offer exact dimensions as each cake is hand crafted in freehand. Our cakes look big and carry a great impact.

All cakes are made of vanilla sponge with jam and butter flavoured cream unless stated otherwise. Chocolate, Lemon Drizzle, Fruit and Carrot cakes are available at additional cost.

Gluten or Dairy Free

All our cake designs can be made with a either a gluten or dairy free filling.

Sponge and chocolate cakes do not have nuts as an ingredient but there may be nut traces present. Our fruit cake does contain nuts and alcohol.

Our cakes are made with vegetable extract fats and may contain dairy products unless specified.

Edible Image Cakes

Edible images can be put on almost any cake. Editing and altering images may involve extra charges.

We can scan and print almost any photograph or image. When an image is scanned and printed the quality deteriorates so please try and provide us with the best quality pictures you can.

If you wish to supply a digital picture, please provide us with suitable format images.

Hand-Made Sugar Figures/Models

Hand-made sugar figures/models to accompany your cake such as a book, ballet shoes and mobile phone etc cost £5 each.

Figures of people and animals cost £10-20 each depending on the detail required. More elaborate sugar crafted models can be quoted for separately.

Orders

We require 5 working days notice (Occasionally 3) on all standard square cakes ordered.

Other novelty cakes require longer preparation and lead time.

A minimum of four weeks notice is required for wedding cake orders.

Skilled cake decorators are rare and valuable crafts people. Occasionally we may not have the resources to meet demand. Please order as early as you can.

Please check your order thoroughly before payment. For bespoke cakes, our decorators can only create the finished article from what they interpret from the wording of your order. It is not possible to create exact specifications when modelling food, just a graphical representation.

24 hours after your cake has been ordered and paid for, any further alteration will carry a £5.00 administration fee.

If an inscription colour or any other choice is left un-selected on your order then we reserve the right to use our own discretion.

Wedding Cakes

Where ever possible order your wedding cake for the day before it is required.

You will always be given an email order confirmation. Please check it and notify us if your order is incorrect.

Wedding Cake Payment

We only accept deposits on Wedding Cakes. 25% is due on order, with the balance due Four weeks prior to collection/delivery.
